Today I put them on at 1:30 and heard a Country Christian tune. I stopped listening at 2PM, but all the cuts sounded like the old B-98.5, Sugarcult, Jet, Papa Roach, Velvet Revolver, Darkness, Trapt, is something up with them, the afternoon host was a female? Do they change at night or was this just the afternoon special, no mention of anything special about the time slot.....

Um... whaaaaa?

1) Gabrielle Vaughn has been PST's Midday Jock for a very long time. Her shift is 9-2, which is usually par for the course for most midday personalities.

2) You're telling me that you heard seven songs PLUS a DJ break in a 30 minute listening period on a Top-40 station that has its commercial breaks usually at 10 minutes before the top of the hour? And in those seven songs, you heard not one female oriented song?

3) You're telling me that Dave McKay, who's a pretty good programmer, seg'ed a country christian song into a block of hard rock on the MIDDAY shift on a CHR station??

I'm really having a hard time taking all of this in...

You do realize that you can research PST's playlist on their website. From 2:30 to 3:00 PM today, these songs were played:

1) Just a Girl - Click Five
2) How You Remind Me - Nickleback
3) Into the Grove - Madonna
4) Collide - Howie Day
5) Hey Baby - No Doubt
6) The Reason - Hoobastank
7) Family Affair - Mary J. Blige.

That sums up PST's playlist pretty well during the day.

Maybe you were listening to the wrong station? Maybe G106.3 or something? Or just a massive e-skip?

The "country christian" song was probably Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying" which is a big AC hit, a minor CHR hit, and fits just fine with what PST is trying to accomplish during the day. PST seems to be good at finding the occasional Country hit that works for them. They're also playing the new Keith Urban.

PST certainly isn't playing much hard rock, aside from the occasional Trapt or Papa Roach, both huge CHR hits. During the workday, they're going for an adult sound. Very little rap or hard rock, lots of recurrents, and a few 80's and 90's golds. Just like the log Starscream posted.

Heading west outside Philadelpia county, all you can hear on 94.5 is that Christian garbage because WPST's signal is worthless to me now. (No offense intended to those who may enjoy Christian garbage.)

Please elaborate on the term Christian garbage!

Please elaborate on the term Christian garbage!

> Please elaborate on the term Christian garbage!

I can't elaborate too much because I haven't actually stayed tuned in for very long. Mostly when I'm out of WPST's sad little range and I turn on the radio which happens to still be tuned to 94.5 FM.

It's always some guy preaching all this brainwashing stuff. Or some ladies "singing" and sounding like cats being stepped on. Oh, or kids singing. [SARCASM]And who doesn't love to hear kids singing?! [/SARCASM]

Just not my particular cup of tea. I was only stating my opinion. Although I can't imagine the station gets many listeners.
