Is radio going thru a generational shift?

It may be a great plan, as a lot of Bieber fans who are millennial adults now idolized him in their teens. But could it turn out to be overkill? i.e., overexposure? I suppose we'll find out.
Its gotta be the older end of Gen Z that also idolized Bieber too in the past decade. But who will be the next big artist that will attract the mid and younger end of Gen Z is yet to be seen here.

This one seems to be on her way:

I believe that the oldest person in Gen-Z is about 16. It's a group of people whose entire life experience is limited to a time of new technology, i.e. internet, smartphones etc.

It appears that the information has either changed since the last time I read it or was faulty to begin with. There was no mention of Generation Alpha at the time. I have been living under this misconception and sharing it with others for the last eight years!

Generation Alpha may have not been considered yet when this information came out. Apparently on average they have to children's of Millennials. These people are born within the past few years according to this release.

Social media hits are definitely being picked up by radio and sxm. The paradigm has definitely changed. The question is whether these “flash” artists will last. However, when you think about it that is the way it has always been with popular music. The difference today is the middle man (record companies and their reps) are almost unnecessary. Obviously you still have to have talent but the road can be more direct today via social media.
Wouldn't today Spotify would be a venue too as a place to check what is trending for music in 2021 and the various audio apps to get an idea of trending artists.

20 years ago Itunes and live 365 were the places to go to for audio content but that has changed due $ to demos.
