Diamond Dave is ripping management about being forced to copy the Howard Stern model. Too little, too late. He was the worst choice to take the helm from Howard.
Wouldn't it be great to hear David Lee on Howard's Sirius Channel for a "ONCE A WEEK SHOW". Then, Dave can build a radio career.

When does Russ take the morning slot for 105.3? and when does 105.3 change their line up?

Question: Does Dave have a job tomorrow with CBS Radio? He says his rant will continue and evetually the axe will fall on his show. Or, do you think this is planned EXIT strategy devised by CBS Radio who knew that no one can takeover for Howard Stern?

Your thoughts are welcomed!!!

Not likely to happen. It's common knowledge that Russ doesn't want to do mornings.

Well then, when is Jagger's non-compete up? Sure do miss the morning Edge!

I thought it was sometime next year. DLR is prolly going to be replaced by the summertime, if CBS radio is smart. If he isnt, I see a revolt by the stations carrying him

Maybe a weak bit?

Could be a bit to create some fake controversy between DLR & management, hoping it will bring in more listeners.

You would think they set him down after his "much deserved vacation" (gaging dry-heave sound), and talked about ways to change the show.

Personally, I applaud Roth for not trying to be a Stern clone. No one could do that and succeed. That said, he sounds like every two-bit local talk show host, only worse! His facts are wrong, he has annoying habits (how many times can YOU say "etcetera") and has surrounded himself with worse talent than GWB!

Re: Is Martin ready for mornings???

As always, KLLI is in a REACTIVE mode instead of a PROACTIVE one. The solution here is to let Russ do his show at the normal time, TAPE IT, and play it back the next morning. No more afternoon show, just let him do it off-air during his self-imposed banker's hours, and play it the next day. The show is not that caller-driven, and what difference would it make anyway? But I think there's always been a fear with Mr Martin that he won't have the same amount of bragging rights if he has to compete with the top talent in the area during morning drive. His only "competition" in afternoons is The Ticket and Sean Hannity. A real AM drive-time slot would be a challenge, and he would have to settle for not being on top right off, if ever. Should he settle for being a big fish in a little afternoon pond, or compete with the big boys that he slams on a regular basis? Who knows, he might do well. Then again, it might mean a quick fall to an otherwise productive career.

Sure, he did mornings at KEGL when Howard was ousted in the late 1990s. But he had music for a crutch. Let's let him prove his value in AM drive and see what happens.

Isn't that the same thing Stern did in his early days?

That would be great...it would open the afternoon slot for Free Talk Live (much needed in this area).
