Is Sniffen's Board/Site Gone?

I wish he would use modern message board software since he has used the same software since he started the board in 1997. It is very difficult to navigate through posts within a thread.

I do like that because the pages are so lightweight they load quickly. But agree about the navigation.

Also, the XenForo software that is used here is nearly as fast and has lots of great features.

If I remember correctly, the predecessor to this community, Radio-Info forums used the same software as Sniffen's, but that was like 20 years ago. I am sure Lance can correct me.

Bob Radil's 60s 70s show was booted in 2019 from Rewound Radio. The station and the message boards are now back.

To paraphrase a title from the Twilight Zone, I saw the Radil incident as two characters in search of an exit, in this case an exit from each other. Radil seemed to be doing the show not so much out of desire but because the fans of the show expected of him; Allan on the other hand had just grown tired of dealing with Radil.

I was thinking more of the old old BostonRadio.org boards from 30 years ago (paging @fybush on that one).

There were never boards for Boston Radio Archives. That was purely an email list.

I must respectfully disagree with this. Snifffen was annoyed because the listenership of Rewound Radio declined during Bob Radil's 60s 70s show and wanted Bob to make changes. Bob was annoyed and didn't want to run the show that evening. At the same time, Bob was taken ill and neglected to inform Sniffen that he wasn't doing the show that evening. Sniffen went into a rage when he found out that Rewound Radio was dark for about four hours.

Bob's listeners loved the 60s 70s show. We are all disappointed that the show has not returned in 4 1/2 years. Bob just got tired of dealing with Sniffen.

The WWWBoard software was what Radio-Info launched with in the late 90s. It has been obsolete for 20 years now. We needed to have a separate install for EVERY single board in those days. There was no login system, no saved usernames, and of course chaos ensued.

And I think this thread has run its course. That site is back online. This isn't going to devolve further into a bashing session.
