Is something going on with 106.7?

The last couple days, after work (the only time I listen: I switch between 560, 104.5 and 106.7), they have been on ESPN. The website goes to ESPN radio. I heard an ad that they are the home of the NBA and NCAA playoffs. But is a change a-comin'?

Years ago (2006 or -7?) 106.7 fired Biddle and Fulton around NCAA basketball tournament time. Maybe The Fan feels there is a ratings bump, pulse, fogging a mirror, ..., by carrying--product cliche alert--The Big Dance.

Yeah, going to be on 12-3 weekdays at the little station that could. Part of the nationwide turnip-squeezing at Cumulus. Frank Seres, the literal backbone at the Wolf through so may changes is out as well -- expect that station to find more network programming outside of mornings. At what point in today's economy do things get so bad you're better off to sell? But then, who's in the market to buy? Certainly no bailout coming for radio.

I understand Larry Stone has packed up and cleaned out his office and is "working from home" now. I'm sure he could help 560 out.

Maybe they could go back to a mixture of the last 75 formats and call themselves jerk fm...

what another sad joke. You gotta love it when an AM station with no signal kicks your FM ass.

2 main questions (and several ancillary ?s)

(1) Is this the year Cumulus finally changes format after the Final 4? To Real Oldies? Hot AC R&B? Spanish? Something creative? (Nah)

(2) I thought Thom Abraham was a Cumulus employee they just moved from place to place. Does the cancellation of his show mean he was fired as a Cumulus employee? Or was that ever the case?

Stone at home? I thought they were tweaking wasn't that the word that was used....some tweak.

Not sure if this is the case with Larry but a few years ago Kim and Dean from WKDF just kind of...well didn't come to work anymore. The "word" was they were not fired but just didn't come into the station. Kim didn't take music calls and didn't do a shift with Dean any longer BUT they were NOT fired! Truth was they just didnt work the last few months of their contracts. Again I don't know if this is whats going on with Larry but do find it strange that he cleaned out his office and isn't the OM now....BUT he isn't fired he is just working from home....I guess he can run Titans Radio from home....
As for me...well as I was told my contract wasn't being renewed...BUT I wasn't being fired....I just didn't have a job...BUT I wasn't FIRED...clean out your desk and turn in your key fob and don't come back...BUT your NOT fired....

I had wondered what had happened to Frank Seres. He was on the Wolf one morning and it seem that the next morning, Charlie Conley and a lady were on there. They were even doing the morning shows on both Saturday and Sunday mornings (which I assume were voiced tracked, much as Frank Seres was had been doing for the past several months).

Similar situation. I was lured to work at a station in Tennessee because they agreed to change the contract to make it worth my while. When it came time to renew, all the stipulations to get me there were taken out. I refused to sign. "Well then, you're quitting". "No, I'm being fired." "No, you're quitting." "Ahem, no, I'm being fired." The Labor Board decided in my favor because I never refused work. But I was listed as "voluntarily leaving", so I didn't get my severence package.

Well, at least I wasn't FIRED...
