Is Sports X Radio #1 with men?

I heard Ken Thomson say his show on KDWN, Sports X Radio, is Arbitron rated #1 among men 25+ and 35+ between 7PM and 9PM. Can anyone here confirm if this is true?

I think it's a great show but it seems hard to believe a station with a 1 share like KDWN would be #1 in any demo in any daypart. If they really are #1 in men I guess I am a typical male in that regard..if I'm listening to the radio at that time that's the show I'm most likely listening to.

On a related note it's good to hear Lance Pry (I'll always think of him as Lance Alexander) back on the air after all these years as the shows announcer/producer...what a blast from the past.

A brokered liberal political talk show on KDWN years ago was said to be #1 on Saturday nights??? I don't know...with it's signal, I'd make kdwn sport betting after dark and promote casinos etc. to people in the weest.

That would require someone at KDWN to have a brain. They have never attempted to maximize their potential from day 1 of Beasley's aquisition of the station.

The old Kdwn did have low budget tourists from out of state going into the Plaza "to check it out because they heard it on the radio..." The old station did pay it's bills I guess and make money....I bet they had a better ROI than the Beasley money pit.

This is a total fabrication. The best he performed in October was a 12 way tie for 8th with Men 65+. All other demo's he's between 15th and 32nd. November was even worse for him.

RE: KDWN. Last Radio Book M St Directory 2010, now on internet only. showed KDWN 3rd in ratings of AM stations in Vegas. 840 was first and 1100 was 2nd. KDWN distant 3rd with 1.3 share.

It was the fall 2009 rating. For the Las Vegas market, they did not list spring 2009 as they did for some markets. The more current ratings require a subscription on the internet instead of the The Radio Book, which is no longer in print form.

I don't think Sports X Radio was on yet in 2009. If you want to see the most current 6+ numbers you don't need a subscription, you can find them on this and other sites.

When he made the claim that he was Arbitron rated #1 in men he didn't mean #1 AM station, he meant #1 7P-9P of ALL stations. Someone must have fed him that wrong information.

Thanks for info on how to get ratings. To those interested, Nov 2011 ratings keep same trend, KWWN 2.6 share, KXNT 2 share and KDWN flat at 1.1. When I'm in Vegas, couldn't find anything interesting to me on 720. What amazed me is the signals of some the nighttime stations either directional patterns or reduced power actually would fade in west Summerlin. Has city area grown too fast for the engineers?

of course the key word is "AM" ..when compared to FM they are is the tank. Interesting the RENO area has an AM Station on top so to speak.

With that signal, KDWN could becomme a "sports wagering station" or something like that. Get ads and shows from sports books and casinos.

Wasn't that the rumored plan when Beasley first bought KDWN?

Thanks Jay ;D I think you are the only person in the market that remembers Lance Alexander. (Outside my family) SXR was #1 Men 25+ and 35+ in the Nov.2011 Arb. book. NOTE: It was less than a 1 share but, Ken was still able to beat out even the FM's in-market for that demographic. L
