Is Stephen A Smith on his way out?

Today Fox Sports Radio begins offering "The Zakk & Jack Show" out of Indinapolis as an alternative to Stephen A. Smith. They are kicking things off by putting Zakk & Jack on the entire network this week. They said they are in for Stephen A all week. Is Mr. Smith on vacation or are they in for him the way Stephen A was in for Steve Czaban last December?

I must say that Zakk and Jack do have good chemisty, Zakk, the radio guy asks questions and sets up Jack Trudeau for answers. As Trudeau was a great college quarterback and played a while in the NFL, they have a chance to build an audience and possible pick up affiliates as the bulk of football conversation moves towards football.

Don't be surprised if Stephen A. Smith gets the afternoon slot on FSR. They could pair him with Hartman or Hartman would just go back to doing local on KLAC. It would be a much better fit for SAS in the afternoon.

They're not going to get rid of Stephen A. Smith. It's too soon and he's a name in sports broadcasting so they'll stick with him a while longer. Moving him? It's possible.

Does FSR still offer Sean Farnham as an alternative for the two or three affils that cannot carry Bruno's show? It's probably the same programming strategy here.

Farnum left Fox Sports Radio. Didn't know where he went.

I doubt that Fox Radio would get rid of Stephen A. Smith, especially after he broke the LeBron James to Miami story weeks before it happened.

Hopefully they will move him to the afternoon drive and get rid of Hartman.

No. He's no longer offered. The reason they did that is because Tony Bruno's show was signed away from Westwood One, but The Content Factory (now DirecTV Sports) was the show's producer, so they had to keep all those non-FSR affiliated clears in place. Stephen A. Smith on the other hand is produced by FSR and is part of the network, so the fact that they're even offering an alternative is strange. Meanwhile there's still no official FSR programming from 12-3.

I was not a fan of Farnham seemed like he always played bad bumper music and started little conflicts with listeners, I think the worst was when they had Turtle or whoever that guy from Entourage was on with him. I think SAS has a place somewhere but not in Czabe's old spot, I did listen when the Lebron thing was going down, but after the Jesse Jackson comments and letting him on I was done.

I really, really, don't want to hear about the NBA in August, or whatever is going on with Team USA...

There will never be any "official" FSR programming in the 12-3 slot, as long as Jim Rome is under Premiere Radio's employ. Whenever Romey retires... different story.

Bruno's show has clearance on the ESPN affiliate in Philadelphia, given A) his history in that market, and B) there is no FSR affiliate in Philly. I think that's the only station left that carries his show that isn't an FSR affil (KTCT in San Francisco is a combo ESPN/FSR affil)

I give SAS a pass on Farve. Mainly because his former employer has been chiefly at fault for feeding Farve's ego non-stop the past few years.

Rome has at least a decade and a half before he retires.
