I do believe that Dave FM's days are likely quite numbered. So he probably won't get that one wrong. Although, I personally enjoy the station for the most part.
As for The Buzz and 96rock...
I highly doubt the Buzz will return to 96.7. They've been there, done that. If the decesion to move them to 105.3 had not been made, they were likely going to get rid of it on 96.7 anyways. But like mentioned...who knows with Clear Channel? What to do with 96.7? Who knows?
I think the Buzz will either remain at 105.3, move to/mesh with 96.1, or go away all together. I doubt CC is going to blow it up at the moment. It's really starting to move on up in the ratings. I have often wondered if CC may combine 96rock and The Buzz (although in many ways that would just return things to how they were pre-2004).
Some reasoning:
96rock:
- why have they still not received a new program director?
- last year when the Braves got done, they sort of refreshed the station. They changed the imaging and added new songs to the playlist. They really made a big deal out of the music. This year, the imaging is still loaded with Braves references (it should be limited at this point) and the playlist hasn't been changed too much. However, as of this week, they have added some 90's grunge (Nirvana, Soundarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, STP) throughout dayparts beyond overnights.
The Buzz:
- it seems a little stange that they only have 4 jocks right now. They lost 5. It seems like they would have hired at least one or two new people by now.
Probably not too much to look into, but CC can't possibly stick with 2 rock stations for that many years.
