WLIT Chicago drops Whoopi and brings back original morning host Melissa Foreman. The station's VP admitted to "making a mistake." Since 106 has a heavy TV campaign that doesn't mention Whoppi in the morning, could this mean the show is on its way out?
 
We can hope. Her show just isn't all that entertaining and I can't help but think that a live and local show would do much better for 106.1.

Given all of Whoopi's other commitments, I would not be surprised if she's off the radio entirely by early next year. She has bigger fish to fry.
 
What makes you think My106 will have a live morning show when Whoopi is gone? They aren't live any other time of day, and CC hasn't been in any rush to get a live morning show on WRFF either.

If they leave Paul "Cubby" Bryant in mornings on KTU in NYC, perhaps they can syndicate that to those of Whoopi's old stations that have a rhythmic lean (including 106.1).

they should ----ing leave it like that to...morning shows usually suck ass
 
As I mentioned in another thread, it wouldn't surprise me if CC nixed Whoopi and the entire "My" format next month in favor of round-the-clock holiday hits.

Yeah, like no one's ever heard of a station that is live during morning drive only! [sarcasm off] 8)

Let's see, My 106.1 targets women 25-49. And, though they like music all day - they also like "happy talk" in the morning. And, they like it best when it relates to them (as in local personalities). Hmmm, I sense a pattern.

Admittedly, not everyone can follow logic.....

I think I just threw up in my mouth after reading this... Not for nixing Whoopi, but the comment about the round the clock holid... Yeah I did just throw up in my mouth.
 
It wouldn't be a bad idea to can Whoopi, stunt with Christmas music (like Sunny 104.5) from November to next January, and launch a new AC station next year to compete with B101.
