Is the FCC on top of things now?

Well well, lookie... http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/FieldNotices/2003/DOC-321664A1.html

Seems like they're aware of Radio Ola and their rule-breaking, I just found this. No fine or anything, but it's a notice of some sort. Interesting that the FCC forgot that KTNR can't be received by the translator with an over-the-air signal.

Can someone a little more experienced with the FCC website look if Radio Ola ever replied?

Uh, what? Are you on the same page as Anonymouse ?

On May 7, 2013 an agent of the Enforcement Bureau's Houston Office visited the tower site for radio station K229BJ located in San Antonio, Texas, and observed the following violations:

Maybe it was the URL that misled you. "/FieldNotices/2003/DOC"...
I know it says 2003, but the actual info's from 2013.

Maybe it was with held. They have a famous Attorney General for that up in Washington.

But seriously,

I wouldn't hurt to call them and inquire. I wonder what the grace period, if any before the next stage rather it be enforcement, levy, fines, etc. From what I read on this it seems like the FCC is putting them on notice to correct their "Radio Ola's" deficiency.

How did you come across that page?

From "Inside Radio":

The FCC has asked a San Antonio-area translator owner for more information as it continues an investigation into whether agency rules were broken when an internet stream was discovered to be the source of audio for an FM translator. Elizabeth Gonzalez, who owns the Hollywood Park, TX-licensed translator K229BJ at 93.7 FM, could face a fine.

Notices like this can be found on the FCC's Daily Digest page but this particular "Notice Of Violation" did not appear there. Likewise, responses to a sometimes (but not always) appear in a station's correspondence file that's available online. So far nothing has shown up there, either, but that doesn't mean that Ms. Gonzalez hasn't responded. It also appears that there are a few days remaining before the deadline.

NOVs do not appear in the Daily Digest, because they're not actions of the full Commission, just of the Enforcement Bureau. Some NOVs result in full Commission action such as fines or admonitions, and those DO appear in the Digest. Some NOVs end up being resolved without full Commission action, and the only time you see them is on that FCC NOV page.

K229BJ 93.7's been dead air nonstop since Yesterday. They left the transmitter on broadcasting nothing. The audio stream won't even work at all now but the site's still up. http://radiolafm.net
Can't find anything on their Facebook saying the thing's shutting down, but at least that's what I'm guessing, either that or they're switching web-hosts. But if they're leaving the antenna on that may be wasting power?

Also as noted in another thread in case anyone missed it, K290BO 105.9 went totally off the air a few days ago.

I have to wonder, what's happenin' over there? Perhaps 93.7 may come back with a legal feed of KTNR sometime, if that's what they're after... Oh wait that isn't possible! ;)

Well 93.7's completely off now, transmitter and everything except the website.

Both Radio Ola stations are off... For good?

Although somewhat off topic, the FCC seems to be on top of getting those pesky rouge autodialers from ringing my phone, I haven't heard a peep from Rachael from Card Holder Services!!! ;D

One thing I've noticed with 93.7 going off the air like it did is that I'm able to pick up KLBJ sometimes and listen to it. :D

I was wrong, Card Holder Services terrorized my telephone number this morning. It's been tape recorded and will go onto youtube.

Give us the link when you are ready. I want to hear it.

I heard 93.7 on the air for about an hour on Wednesday - from 1:45 to around 3:00 PM.

It played some Spanish Christian music with no identification messages or anything, then abruptly went off the air at 3:00 IIRC.

I mixed it in with Senator Claire McCaskill speech about RoboCalls on C-Span, the link: http://www.rsshog.com/a/2013-07-28/...9jJTyFxHxWK6GbODQSUN3S8UJFjKXhZNF2c-TEhcHMI_/

93.7's strange behavior

Well as for 93.7, I checked today and they turned it off, weird.
It just woke up over the weekend and broadcasted nothing before going back to sleep today.

Anyone have a clue what they're trying to do? Maybe they're not sure if the transmitter will fry if they leave it down for too long? LOL. Or they're getting broadcast fever again. But if they are at least play some rock or country or something.
