Is the FCC on top of things now?

The website is still up after all this time. http://radiolafm.net/site/index.php
It says at the bottom it's designed by SpreadGroup.org, SpreadGroup looks like a Mexican web designer but either they haven't bothered to pull the site down or they're still being paid to host a website for a station that no longer exists. :O
Go look at the chat messages on the site there, the last one's apparently from the FCC but then again anyone can pick any name they want. LOL.

I've came across or heard nothing new regarding 93.7 or 105.9 FM, both still are down.

My, oh my. The translators are starting to get legal! An application for a silent STA was filed for each of them recently:

K229BJ 93.7: https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/w...t=25&appn=101568919&formid=910&fac_num=139150

K290BO 105.9: https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/w...t=25&appn=101567792&formid=910&fac_num=139129

The applications are essentially the same, stating that the reason for going silent is that they're looking for a new "program source."

They should contact 1520 KQQB and retransmit it, it's Christian Spanish anyways.

Not possible.

AM stations may rebroadcast on “currently-authorized” translators in the non-reserved (i.e., commercial) portion of the FM band, provided that no portion of the 60dBu contour of the translator extends beyond the smaller of either (a) the AM's 2mV/m daytime contour or (b) a 25-mile radius from the AM's transmitter site.

Well, 92.1 KTNR in Kenedy is up and running at least. It's playing Spanish Christian tejano, I can pick it up in San Antonio. It's not the strongest signal but it's probably up at it's licensed power. Stream is at http://50.84.164.26:8150.
The audio quality of the FM broadcast is actually excellent!

The requests for both translators to remain silent were approved last week, with the usual cautionary letters from the FCC reminding Ms Gonzalez of her responsibility to return them to the air by July 2014 lest their licenses be revoked.

I think you are correct. From my quick search, I think this is the location:

Continent: South America
Country: Brazil
State: Santa Catarina
City: Sao Bento Do Sul
