Is The Tube on WATL-DT2?

livingfruitvirus said:
Wikipedia says it was added in summer, but I never pick it up on my scan. And I can pick up all of WHSG's subchannels.

The Tube might have been pulled when Gannett bought WATL. The Tube is a Tribune and Raycom deal.

They are expanding beyond that. I get the Tube in Athens on Sinclair's WLOS Asheville.

The Tube's also on WFXG-54's HD-2 signal in Augusta, and they're owned by Fisher.

Maybe in the ATL -- but not in Greenville/Spartanburg

Not anymore. The Tube was pulled from all Sinclair-owned stations on 12/31/2006 because of new FCC rules affecting DT subchannels.

Specifically, all DT subchannels must (1) carry at least 3 hours per week of kids' programming and (2) be capable of relaying the Emergency Alert System.

And why is only Sinclair affected by this?

Because only SINclair is too cheap to add the three hours of children's programing and adhere to the EAS requirements.
