Is the X evolving?

It seems to me that the X is evolving from an alternative to some kind of rockish hot AC?
Cold Play, the Killers, a lot of what was at one time called, "Prehistoric X music" stuff like that. Do you think that over time, they may become a rock AC? I know we will have to keep an eye on KRock post Stern, but could this be the hot AC people in Pittsburgh have not been talking about? Thoughts?
