is there a chance of a new format on 102.9

New PD. It could happen.

Let's see, the same old tired 300 classic rock tunes or 300 tired classic hits or...does it really matter. I hate to be doom and gloom, but whatever they're going to do will probably suck. Add DeBella to that and you have a recipe for lousy radio.

yea, but they kinda suck, but theyre just ok, they should put another station like MMR on there.
mgk is a sorry example of a classic rock station...how ever they would make a great classic hits station...classic rock radio is dead in philadelphia.

97.5 the hawk R.I.P.

not the same without it

Why would MGK change now that the Hawk is no more? They have the Classic Rock arena to themselves.

"Re: is there a chance of a new format on 102.9?"

Yes...it might be called "Magic White Noise".

Or, maybe GM will get creative and simulcast 950 WPEN. Yeah! That's the ticket!

Yeah.....This confuses me........102.9 calls it's self Classic Rock when it sounds like Classic Hits and then 99.9 The Hawk and 107.5 Frank-FM call themselves Classic Hits when they sound like Classic Rock. Have you listen to 99.9 or 107.5 latley? They are more 'rock' intensive and sound like WYSP/WWMR/WZZO from back in the day.........Free Beer and Hot Wings should be put on either the Hawk or Frank...but again I guess it is not a good idea to kill the all ready 'LOCAL' am shows already in place. Since 97.5 went off the air I have been listening to 99.9/107.5 or, believe it or not, 95.7 BEN-FM......for some reason 102.9 just does'nt sound right....it is hard to explain....maybe they are too bland???

Yet I know people who love listening to him in the AM. They're in the 45-55 demographic.

My response to the comparison of 102.9 / 99.9 / 107.5 remains a <shrug>. I doubt many listeners could tell the difference between any of the three except for their IDs and, perhaps, morning drive programs.

How about a dance station in Philly?

They could always use one.

Ha. Ha. Ha. ;D
Ah, yes. A blast from the past.
"Philly needs a danz station."
Thanks for a trip down radio board memory lane.

Seriously, folks....
Put your money on Talk.

LOL i was thinking the exact same thing...99.9 the hawk and 107.5 frank FM do sound like classic rock more than classic hits, and i was also thinking that free beer and hotwings should be on one of the 2 being that theyre both owned by nassau.

doubt a format change for MGK...the station does pretty well revenue wise. Even the lousy morning show bills pretty well despite it ratings.
