Is there a place for TV like Radio-locator?

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a place like or is there a place like Radio-info for TV? I would like to see what would be my best bet for TV reception out at Lavaca county, I can get San antonio TV fairly well, but sometimes I cant get it at all. I tried out Channel 2 and it was a lot more clear, but I just wonder if thats what I need to be watching instead of San antonio TV?

The best place I know of for TV or FM is the FCC site at www.fcc.gov which gives you the Service Coverage Contour for both FM and TV stations.

For TV click on media {on right side of window}, then on the left side is a menu that you can click on and scroll down to TV QUERY click on that. A new window will open up SEARCH ON ANY FIELD, enter only the four alpha characters for the CALL {KPRC, do not add TV or DT} and click on TV QUERY (detailed output + CDBS links) and then click on SUBMIT DATA.

Every active record for the TV station you entered will come up in a new window, the Analog and Digital stations, STA's that are being used, Applications and Constructions Permits.

Near the bottom of each record will be the word AREA:, click on this for a map of the Service Grade Contour complete with many cities and towns. I use the FCC FM Query over Radio-Locator as it should be more accurate than R-L.

For FM just substitute FM in place of TV for Service Grade Contours.

Now if I could just find a good site for AM Contours!

Hope this helps jras.

If I didn't make it clear how to use the FCC has a help section on how to use the AM-FM-TV Query or email me. Unfortunately there are no Coverage Maps for AM stations at this time, I would not hold my breath for that to happen either.

Thanks for the info Mike, I checked out the coverage maps, looks like KPRC is about 2 miles closer from the 64db gaine, I think maybe KPRC would be more clear than WOAI would be, but KENS may be more better than KHOU or KTRK. I would just go to Victoria but I will only be getting KAVU which would be only 1 channel. They were expose to get KVCT on that same new tower last summer but they never acually did that just yet. I may try it over to Houston, I just changed out a transformer out there a while back, it might work a lot better than it did before now. I had a big lightling surge here at my place near Austin about 4 weeks ago, I'm still trying to re build everything, I even had surges on everything still got blown.
