Merlin debuts alternative rock WKQX-LP, Chicago at its new home of 87.7
The expected launch happened at 7pm Chicago time, with this tweet from Merlin Media: "Yes, we just birthed this bitch." Merlin is leasing the 88.7 Channel 6 low power TV facility for audio only broadcastfrom Venture Technologies Group. Jim Richards has been hired as operations director of both the new "Q87.7" and full-power classic rock "Loop" WLUP (97.9). The original WKQX was owned by Emmis on the freqency that is now "FM News 101.1."
