Is There Any Christian Stations Broadcasting In HD Radio?

A few ideas I'd like to see

Although I don't know how far along they are to doing anyhing with HD, but I'd think it would be a great idea for the satellite networks like K-LOVE and WAY-FM to put more choices on their stations. K-LOVE could use it to put their sister station Air 1 in more areas, and AFR could use it to offer their AC network in places that don't yet have it. WAY-FM could use it to bring back The X Station, which was Internet only until it was dropped.
This could also give a chance for local Christian stations to do things they haven't been able or wouldn't do in the past. Perhaps some traditional stations that haven't done anything with CCM in the past could add CCM on a subchannel, unless they fall into the category of owners who are anti-CCM. Also, this could be a chance for CCM stations to widen the range of formats to include CHR or classic CCM in areas where it hasn't been before. But then how far along are stations in actually doing anything with it?

I also think we will see 24/7 stations do a CHR on their HD-2 channel and maybe even bring back "preaching" on their HD-3 (talk only channels).
It will be interesting to see how Christian radio handles the new techology down the road.
The issue with K-Love and other networks is a lot of their stations are only translators and that would be hard to do HD on (if its even possible) their full power stations could easly do a sub channel.

Sure, it'd be nice. But let's see which companies will be proactive enough to devote time/resources/$ to something that very few people are listening to @ this time. Assume that the prices on HD radios will drop as demand & availability start to increase. Then let's see how early stations make the plunge, & if they go "live" or like jockless jukeboxes.
Personally, I'd enjoy a KSBJ triple-cast [fully bringing back their defunct, younger, "Planet Lightforce" format... alongside the usual KSBJ... w/ "Enter His Gates" for those of us who admittedly need & like a P & W station].

The Song in Indianapolis is broadcasting in HD. Even though Cumulus has not put out a press release on their HD-2 channels, they did pick Christian Rock in the HD format draft for The Song. No word on when they will start broadcasting. Speculation in the building is that it won't happen until the Susquehanna/Cumulus sale closes.

Surely one or two of the three will have to be spoken word programming. Although it's technically possible to split the 96k as one wishes, I can't imagine choosing to do three music streams.

Crawford Broadcasting Stations in HD
Crawford Broadcasting stations WMUZ-FM and WPTR-FM are broadcasting in HD. Detroit's Christian MOR station WMUZ-FM is multicasting with an all-Christian music format on it's second channel. Crawford plans to have all their FMs in HD by the end of the year. Several Crawford stations are now live streaming online including Christian MOR WMUZ-FM in Detroit, CCM WPTR-FM in Albany, CCM WDJC-FM in Birmingham, Christian Talk KBRT-AM in Los Angeles, Christian Talk KJSL-AM in St. Louis and Gospel KSTL-AM in St. Louis.<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by The RadioFan on 01/29/06 03:15 PM.</FONT></P>

WRCI Rochester is also broadcasting in HD. Their subchannel is carrying sister station WLGZ (Adult Standards), though rumor is that is just a temporary placeholder for something yet to come...

That's interesting to hear. I had hoped they would go with a younger-leaning Christian format (whether it be CHR, Rock, etc.).
I wonder whether they will program it in-house or go with a network?
