IS THERE CHANGE COMING TO B96

Sources close to me tell me that a Dynamic Duo is being consider for a postion at B96. Not sure if this was just a rumor but if true who is losing thier JOB? Was the PD in New York over the weekend? Made soom good contacts he did...What do you think?

Dynamic?

wow, B9sux is gonna need alot more than that to pull ratings

You know, building ratings takes time. They've made a few good changes over there recently, a new DJ who is entertaining and sounds great, some new life in the E + J show, playlist tweaks.

You will never see a station formerly in decline turn around overnight. But the ratings are up. And things look good for B96.

then again, I would imagine they are being helped somewhat by Kiss. Listener confusion usually leads to a decline in ratings.

This is true. It is very easy to confuse both stations musically. The "new dj" Julien is extremely talented and actually sounds more of a style of a "Kiss" jock in the PM or evening time so a very different move for B, the new changes with E and J should break out in time agreed. It'll be interesting to see the outcome.

Why the heck did CC launch WKSC in the first place, given the dreadful results from the various launches of CHR/Pop ststions nationwide over the past several years?

So what IS TJ and Wild Bill up too? Are they on the air somewhere?

As odd as it seemed when CC launched WKSC, their patence is paying off big time, and it could get bigger. "KISS" floundered for a long time as a weak sister to B96 in terms of ratings, but they have managed an impressive growth over the past 4 to 5 years. It will be interesting to see this winter book and see if "KISS" passes B96. WKSC has been doing some fine tuning, even with afternoon drive, and it's starting to show dividends. Fewer phone calls and more tunes.

While competing stations seems a surprise to some, it is actually quite refreshing to find stations actually making changes and adjustments to keep listeners from going away. That's what can actually bring back some good radio for the listeners. When there is no competition, the stations can keep things tight and very limited because there is nowhere else to go.
