I beed noticing that Jill FM isn't being called, "Jill FM" anymore. Listen to the Liners! They are identify the station as "92.7FM" leaving out "Jill FM". What are your takes?
I just heard a new liner "the new 92.7fm"
They also offered a hotline for recommendations.
I think that this is their shift to adult contemporary. The start of "Jill" was an adult hits format to compete with 93.1 KCBS Jack Fm (get it-jack and jill.) As they move back to AC (ala the period as KMLT-Lite fm), they are probably trying to shred the jack image.
Liners heard tonight (1/18/11):
* 92 7 FM...We Play Everything
* 92 7 FM....Southern California's Widest Variety of Music
There are few Jill mentions on air, outside of an extensive contest rule spot that sprinkled in a liberal amount of references to "Jill FM". Their website still reflects the Jill branding in both its onsite content and URL ( www.927jillfm.com ).
According to http://whois.domaintools.com/927fm.com it was purchased nearly 10 years ago by someone in Corona, so it does not appear to be a domain tied into any current plans at the station, unless the listed Sai Pola is approached to sell the domain to them.
