Is this area dead?

Nothing! I surmise that all arguments have already been settled, or else the parties have agreed to disagree! :)

Surely someone is doing something new, novel or unique in community radio they could share with us.

Maybe everyone is too busy right now looking at the LPFM upcoming Application Window. Do I or don't I? How much cash is it going to take? Do we have a plan in place that will generate enough incoming funds for a new LPFM to survive.

For several years it has been all talk and dreams. Now reality is staring us in the face.

So is a short ground lead attached to a metal pole legal? :D

One thing I wish would happen is for RecNet to re-establish its LPAM channel finder. I know Michelle Eyre took it down because the LPAM initiative is essentially dead with the FCC. But it was a great way to find open AM channels in the area for Part 15 broadcasting.

I'm not doing anything new, but I did now list my podcast adress in my signature line and just put up a podcast where I actually DJ a bit instead of just letting music roll. Still all recorded from AM air signal.

I'm thinking about building a backup transmitter in the near future.....maybe solar powered. :-*

One of the ultra isolator transformers is spoken for...but I haven't shipped it yet ...any other AM part 15s with hum issues should
PM if they are interested in a darn-near free anti-hum solution.

Michi Eyre assured me that the LPAM channel finder still exists. It only works in finding channels in the X-band (which I think was always the case). But its still a great resource.

Since we didn't have a Christmas music station in this market for 2012, I have
been the Christmas music station.

I put on everything from Nat King Cole, to Crystal Gayle, to Amy Grant. But I did it gradually, with
only a few songs per hour, until this past week.

I know I've been working on a new AM project as well as planning a field test of the popular Part 15 AM transmitters now that I have a Potomac FIM at the ready.

Other than that I know I've been busy with a studio build that's taken much longer than I ever thought it would.

I'm busy trying to pursue my own LPFM radio station.

Been talking with many people as of late.

Sharing some ideas I may run with, should it work out.

Many of those I've spoken with smile when I say SG may have a home on here.

They even told me Bill Gaither was a favorite of theirs, when I asked if they liked him.

It looks like I may be doing more than CCM on here, after all.

Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted.
