Sadly, another police officer has been killed by a stupid thug. :'( The stations have covered this story with compassion. I was particularly impressed with Fox 10's coverage.

What did others think of the coverage today?
 
My condolences to the family and friends of officer Erfle.

The only TV I saw was 3, and they actually had footage of the Erfles from a few years ago. Julie worked at 3TV and they appeared in a commercial that aired on Cox14.
 
Not only is the story sad... but now I've heard that the "cop killer" was an illegal immigrant from Mexico.

Anyway, I watched 12 and 10 for the most part (Although I did see part of 3's previous report on the officer. That had to be eerie for the producers)

FOX appeared to have the only aerial footage of the chase as it ended. BIG PLUS for them. I'm sure Phoenix PD will want a copy of that for training. FOX even set up how the cops surrounded the car and moved in on the guy. You can't buy t.v. like that! It may seem like overkill, but when you're watching that on the screen, it's always hard to turn away.
