Is this happening on Q102?

Here in Hartford, CT, Kiss 95.7 (WKSS) has all but cut out their imaging and segues. You can literally hear a song, then right to commercial, then back to music. No sweepers, etc. I've also heard the same is going on in Boston.

I'm curious if the same is true on Q102. Of course, I'm talking Clear Channel here. The claim is, less interruption to music. To me it sounds cheap and amateurish. Anything like that going on down here in my old hometown?

Nothing interesting going on in Philly.

If you want to hear something really different from Clear Channel, try this from Dallas - Fort Worth, KZPS
www.lonestar925.com

Outlaw country, Americana, Texas blues, southern rock & some classic rock. A commercial consists of something like this "Highspeed internet just got affordable. This hour of music brought to you buy AT&T".

This is exactly the kind of CC-ization of radio stations that is going on in New York. I can't say that I've heard it on Z-100 or KTU, but it happens regularly on Q104, Power 105 and Lite 106.7.

Bottom line: More hard segs - LESS PERSONALITY.

I wonder if research shows that a loud imaging sweeper wakes the listener up and reminds him to hit the button because commercials are coming.

Actually McDonald's Corporation has asked lexicographers and Dictionary pulblishers to remove the term "McJob" from the dictionary because apparently it's offensive to McDonald's employees.

I never even knew the term appeared in any dictionary until recently, but ironically, I wonder how many McJob employees actually read the dictionary.
