Is this how a Public Affairs Director upholds her respect?

1. I doubt that’s actually a picture of her butt
2. Even if it is, just lighten up and stop going to their insta if you don‘t like the content they post, rather than trying to get people on here to complain to someone you think is her boss.
3. I think you’re jealous of her butt, or whoever’s butt that is on the left side of the picture.
4. I bet you listen to the MJ Morning Show every day

The MJ Morning Show today posted a photo of Roxanne Wilder's butt. How she can accept this is beyond me, but this is no way for the cluster's Public Affairs to act. If you agree, contact Rick Thomas at 727-563-8955 to complain.

It's a different day and age. Face it. Radio is no longer just aural, it's visual as well. Nowadays, people share everything on social media. As long as she doesn't have a problem with it, why do you? This is tame compared to some stuff that's posted everyday.

Promotion is done by the PD and the Promotion Director. If a station has a "Public Affairs" director (nearly none do in the commercial world) they focus on the Sunday morning talk shows and community relations activities, not programming and promotion.

Chill. Please chill.

I think you're doing satire here. And maybe you're connected in some way to Q 105 and are doing publicity for Q 105.
When you have a "morning zoo" show, then there's no such thing as bad publicity. The more people who call in to the promotions director to complain, the more that the morning zoo people will hype the drama of everyone calling in and complaining. The purpose of morning zoo shock jock shows is to get the listeners riled up about nothing and to keep them riled up about nothing, so that they continue to tune in for more "drama."

If they can keep this going on Instagram for a week of talking about Roxanne ( every morning zoo shock jock needs a "young hottie" type about which to post sexual innuendo or suggestive photos), then the shock jock is thrilled.

MJ is an old school guy who returned to radio, where he did a shock-jock type thing for 15 years on some other station. All morning zoo guys, with the sexual innuendo and the young hottie who is the target of the innuendo and suggestive photos, etc., are a derivative of the original shock jock out of WNBC or Sirius. They try hard to be as outrageous, but because they are not allowed to drop f-bombs every 5 seconds, they can't get very close. So they have to use "Roxanne's butt photos".

So, this is drama about "nothing", which you might already realize.

More about shock-jock type radio below.

Oe afternoon, a place where I PD'ed and MD'ed started overdubbing some two-person chat and replaying it. Other voices added to it all. That result got overdubbed. There were something like 30 people on mike between every song (Solid Gold) yammering and getting in the slogans. Several times the roar was used to talk up a song's vocals and then clipped off. I take full blame.
The phones were ringing all over the place. One call was from across Long Island Sound, asking what the (heck) was going on.
After about a half an hour, the GM, a great guy, hotlined and told me, wearily, 'Okay. I think that's enough'.
Yeah, it was a one-time runoff. And it was in PM drive. We often did some other unlikely things, but no harm was done.
Yet, Morning Zoos have to keep up frenzy such as that every break, every morning! After a while, the commotion has no place to look for material other than traditional guttersnipe talk and phony laughter. A lot of sports talk is very similar (and not just in morning drive).
The point is: If you subscribe to the premise, you go along with all of it. If the content makes you uncomfortable, there's a volume knob, a tuning dial and an on-off switch.

Thank you -- that's a great story. That's why I decided not to go on in multiple messages about morning/afternoon zoo format shows, because in the long run, the listener always has the option to switch it off.
