Is three hours too long for a show?

I was just think maybe radio shows should cut down an hour instead of being three(or in some cases, four hours). But I'm no expert, I was just think it would be nice if local stations could do at least an hour of local programming if say they have Hannity at 3 then Levin at 6. But I realize too many stations are too cheap to do it.

I'm not sure why you think they're mutually exclusive. There are plenty of stations that combine local and syndicated programming with all shows being longer than an hour.

Yes...if it's a bad show. No...if it's a good show.

My show is two-and-a-half hours, so there you go!

30 minutes of local news
2 hours with a guest

Some days, I think it is too long, but when there are good guests and callers have things to add to the conversation, it never seems like enough. I suppose that's the feast or famine about talk radio.
