Is Urban Radio In Columbus Connecting With It's Listeners

It's time for us to step up to the plate and get involve with our communities, people are dying(no radio is not going to stop that) but remember when they were vignette where we heard a grandmother crying out to the youths in our city begging them to put down their guns? are those days too far gone? or is that what is needed during this crucial season of our lives?

LOL. I listened to them once. Do you think WVKO may have a urban format? I don't think so, but it's possible. They could always try it again, LOL.

Apparently, based on the increasing numbers of people who seem to believe that what is portrayed on many urban stations is "acceptable behavior".

what was that line from Forest Gump?

LOL! Does anyone think when the new owners for R1 come in, 107 will flip to 100% rhythmic. You can see it developing now. http://www.yes.com/station/WCKX

If you take a look, the songs that they play in New Music (most of the time right before commercial) are songs that should be in Power or Heavy Rotation. I run a CHR/Rhythmic, & a Urban on the Internet. We follow the Mediabase charts as most stations do. Their MD sucks big time. Come on, this is Columbus not some small farm town. We need a killer sounding station. www.rdl101.com is a good example.

I don't think this has anything to do with a sale of any type. If you change the call letters, wizf for cincy, hhh for Indy, etc, you will see that other R1 stations that are not being "sold" are here too. So far, there have not been any rumors about a columbus sale that I have heard

Probably just some type of feature/revenue generation that is being prepped company wide.

that I have heard....

of course, with that and 25 cents, you still won't get a cup of coffee.

I have not heard of a sale, not that I would be the first one anyone would call. Everyone has probably heard rumors that radio one said columbus was for sale, thats about it. So my _guess_ is that talk of a sale is probably premature. (and wishful thinking on peoples part!)

I just stated that the yes.com stuff probably has nothing to do with a sale, it actually seems more like a research company that a lot of folks use.
