Being in Wildwood today I tuned into the stong 1600AM which always has a good signal in Cape May county up until you hit Tyler Road on 47. They were calling themselves WAMS but never mentioned the AM just FM 98.3 wherever that it....The format was Oldies with live jocks and great liners, and great oldies, heard "Here Comes the Night by Them". They said they were going to have a real format September 7th, and were asking listeners to provide information on what the format should be. The Jock was saying Jazz, Alternative, Oldies, Gospel were some of the responses. But for now the signal was Oldies....I don't know if this is some kind of joke, because we all know WAMS tried to come back many times....

I just checked my radio and WAMS is on 98.3 out of Smyrna DE and 1600 from Dover DE. I first heard them with my WinAmp player, a very nice 192kbit stream. Both the FM and AM have good quality, so that's a plus. And they're playing good oldies so I am happy they're back. :)

I'd be happier with better emoticons, but I'll just listen to the tunes without them. :p

There is no 98.3 out of Smyrna.
My bad, you're right on this point. They mentioned 98.3 and then said Smyrna so I assumed it was there as Dover had 98.7. Operative word had as it's no longer there.

In fact there is no 98.3 in Delaware.
You're wrong on this point.

98.7 in Dover has moved to 98.3 with a call sign change from W254AT established 04/29/2004 to W252CH which began 08/25/2009.

It's kinda like "takin' a chance at a Sam Lit dance!"

Maybe they hung it on tower two of the old WKEN array, no, the WAMS array, no, the WXXY, no, the WDPZ, no .. any number of call letters at Heaven 1600. Maybe tower 1, tower 3, no, maybe it is on a balloon ... tethered from one of the dog houses ...

Wowzers.
