From today's front page at R-I, it seems "major" market is whatever CBS decides to sell. Could that mean WBZ in Boston? Could WBZ and WBZ TV soon be split for the first time in history (as is being talked about with KDKA?)
Maybe not TV stations, but I can see them spinning off their entire national radio division. Disney spun off its radio group to Citadel a couple years ago. I can see Viacom doing the same with its radio properties if things don't pick up in the next year. Heck, if Clear Channel cashed out and they were number one in size and revenue, why can't CBS jump ship when it comes to radio?
Well is there a reason for CBS to sell their radio stations? Do they need cash? Is the business to conflicting with TV to manage effectively? Or is the price tag for the radio stations too high to resist? Or coversely will the radio stations be worth less in the future so selling them now means more cash
