Is WELJ a seperate station from PLJ?

Here's how you can tell: If you're in the 104.7 reception area, pull up this page while you're listening:
http://www.yes.com/#WPLJ

... and see if the playlist on this page (which is updated in real-time) syncs up with what you're hearing on 104.7. That should be the easiest way to find out if it's a true simulcast of WPLJ or not. Then again, it would be kind of pointless for Citadel to switch 104.7 to a format similar to WPLJ's - call letters and all - and not just simply simulcast WPLJ, at least during the "Scott and Todd" morning show.

I do recall reading on this forum that WELJ debuted with 10,000 straight songs, commercial free. Not sure if they broke for "Scott and Todd" during that period.

With WPLJ's PPM numbers dropping, why would they simulcast it on WELJ? I don't think it's going to be a simulcast like they said.

They'd want to keep the ads separate. A small business in Montauk won't want to advertise in New York City as well. Party FM when it was on 87.7 aired different ads.

Right now, yes. I tuned in about 10 days ago driving along 95 and they are IDing as 104-seven, ELJ. It was continuous music, just songs and imaging. It's basically a hot AC version of Beach with no spots. I don't know if they are using the same playlist as 95.5 or simulcasting Scott & Todd (I drove through at night). If it was just going to be a simulcast they'd be doing it already. It seems, at this point, the station will have a local element, even though they may borrow heavily from PLJ.
