Does anybody know if 'The Rapids' (The River's ROWDY side!) is still on the air or not?
I am not in the coverage area, but I used to listen to the online stream (at 959theriver.com). I think it was sometime last year that any information about 'The Rapids' was removed from the website.
It will be a shame if Next Media killed-off 'The Rapids'. I thoroughly enjoyed the 70's/80's hard rock format, which was much better IMO than the grungier sounding (90's/2000's) HD2 'Loop Loud'.
Perhaps someday Next Media can add a 'Rapids' type of format to the HD2 signal of their other stations around Chicago so more people can hear it. Especially WIIL Kenosha which has the most powerful signal of the group.
