Is WFXH-FM The Worst Programmed "Alternative" Station In Georgia?

Behold the unimaginative monstrosity that is WFXH-FM Rock 106.1 - The Only Station That Really Rocks! (nice lame positioner there)! Other than an occasional alt-rock song, a classic rock song, or a gold or two, If it isn't Saliva, Godsmack, or a litany of other active rock bands, it doesn't get massive airplay. Yet this station is allowed to report as an alternative! It's horrible and I really wish someone would get the nerve to challenge this lame duck of a supposed alternative station. Meanwhile bands like The Raconteurs are barely represented and songs by bands or artists like Death Cab For Cutie, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio, Snow Patrol, Starsailor, Thom Yorke, Regina Spektor, Paul Westerberg, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, Jack Johnson, The Decemberists, and many others are being ignored outside of a two-hour specialty show on Sunday nights. WFXH, stop with the uncreative playlist, the consultants (no doubt), and ditch the classic rock! You're allegedly an alternative station...try acting like it! Someone needs to show this market that an alternative/modern rock station can flourish and doesn't have to play hours and hours of nu-metal
to do so. Z102, when it was alternative, proved that. 96Wave in Charleston proves it, and has done so for years. In other words, WFXH - stop fearing songs with melodies or acoustic guitars. They won't harm you or your listeners.

Granted, alternative is not a format that I know a whole lot about, but comparing that sample playlist to the current R&R Alternative chart, I'm not seeing anything that seems too out of line.

Looks like fewer currents than I might expect to see from an Alt., and 1-2 songs per hour that I would consider more Active Rock than Alt. these days, but on the whole it really doesn't look that out of synch with what the rest of the reporting Alternatives are playing.

A) You have to realize that WFXH has primarily been an active rock station since it signed on. It was designed for that...

B) To add to that, Savannah's "Alternative" station (Wave 104.9) was a clusterbuddy with Rock up until a few months ago. We see that the AAA version of Wave never caught on in either HHI or Savannah (partly because of its signal), so going alternative would have been bad for Wave.

That being said, I have a feeling deep in my gut that a signal (probably 92.3) will probably go modern rock at some point, leaving a better chance of a more alternative Rock 106-1.
