is whph broadcasting from their new site?

I heard them in Cullman today for the first time.

I posted about a month or so ago about WHPH possibly broadcasting from their new site, when WKLD in Oneonta signed off. I was up on Shades Mountain last month and I could hear WHPH very well, much better than I normally do when I'm in that area. That same day, I was driving south on I-65 through Pelham and scanning the frequencies, and my radio "locked" in on 97.7; I have always received a good signal from WHPH while in Pelham, but that was the first time I ever remember my radio "locking in" on that frequency there.

Recently (about two weeks ago), I was driving up in the Roebuck area, and I was able to hear the "Peach" with a fairly good signal up there, also. I don't recall ever hearing them in that area either, but then again, before that time, WKLD was still on the air. According to radio-locator, It doesn't appear WHPH's current coverage area includes much of northeastern Birmingham (that would stand to reason with WKLD's facilities being in Oneonta), but the signal I was getting from WHPH was pretty good, nonetheless.

I can get them a a wee bit better now. Still have issues with static but their sound quality is still top notch.

P.S. Hope they'll have success with this upgrade.

I used to be able to pick them up in Hoover as far as the area around Ross Bridge. I now don't have much of a problem getting them all over Homewood. It's my terrestrial station of choice. I'm still more addicted to Sirius/XM's 60's on 6 and 70's on 7.
