Is WHUC Over Modulating?

Hi,
Ever since 1230 WHUC changed formats from the music of your life to a more local
broadcast, their audio seems to be over modulating. I've tried to attenuate the signal
but haven't had any luck. Boy, do I miss the old WHUC and the on air talent they had in
the 60's and 70's. I know they transmit out of the Hudson site and towers on 9G now.
They used to have the studio and tower on Rt.66 in Greenport but it's been sold of to
S&G communications. So anyway, just wondered if anyone else has noticed.
Thanks,
Rich

I miss working there. Best radio experience of my whole life. I know we were overmodulating back then! "Jacks Race, WHUC's new". I think I heard Jack's stomach rumble on air during Party Line one day, the compression was so hot. We always said, you can't open the mic and have dead air, cause the wall behind you would get sucked into the microphone.

They made us sign off at 10pm. We stayed around and did shows on the FM exciter after signoff. Called it "C-93". I think Rick Kelly has airchecks of this.
