Is WNJO running full power?

I see WNJO (isn't the "O" for "Ocean County"?) listed for 4,000 watts, but here in Southern Ocean County (LBI/Manahawkin) the station comes in very poorly.

WNJO flipped to The Hawk many years ago :p

For the current WNJO, Radio-Locator still shows them as off the air, so you might have been DXing WNJZ 90.3 from Cape May.

WNJO is 4000 watts directional, vertical only, from Seaside Park.
That's good for about 20 miles.

They are on the air and have applied for a license, so I would
assume what you hear is what you get.

The "O" may stand for "Ocean" just like the "Z" stands for
"Cape May" ... it always has ... the old county specific
license plates for Cape May County began with a "Z"
why ? dunno

Maybe because Cape May is the end of Jersey and Z is the end of the alphabet?

Hmm, there construction permet has expired... what does that mean for the station? They won't be able to go on the air unless they apply too and get a new one?
Was it suppose to be Oldies i wonder?

WNJO is ON THE AIR and has applied for their permanent license. It's a
New Jersey Network station. No Oldies.

I thought there was someone that was runnin a very low powered FM WNJO as Oldies? Someware in Suthern Jersey.
http://www.wnjofm.com/

He used to run it as an online stream and a Part 15 station (not sure if he still runs that) but he now programs WRRC 107.7 with oldies that 94.5 WNJO used to play on the weekends.

Now that I think of it, I miss WNJO. I remember hearing it on the school bus every day when I was in 7th grade.

I cant' seem to get the Listen Live link to work...
Yes, I remember listening to this station when i was 18, back in 2000.
Our bus didn't have an actual radio in it, so the driver or I would bring one into the bus, and we'd listen to it until we couldn't get it anymore, then we'd switch to WIOQ "Q102", or WOGL "Oldies 98", and sometimes even WEJM "Jammin' Gold 95.7". (My Bus ride was an hour long, from Bensalem to Center City Philly)
I always liked WNJO though, i wish I had recorded airchecks back then. I think Don Tandler (The Record Handler), used to work there? Believe it was after his long time oldies Saturday night shows on WKXW "New Jersey 101.5"
Isn't he at "The Brethe" (99.7 WBHX/107.1WWZY" now?

Don Tandler uses a fake name (Kris something) on K98.5 in Ocean County, sister station to 107.1/99.7 The Breeze.

Don never worked at WNJO...he was at NJ 101.5 before going to the Breeze and Press Communications Radio....WNJO flipped to the Hawk well before Don left 101.5.
