I surfed into WOKY the other day on my way to Kenosha's WLIP. I actually heard them play Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman". Now I think that they've always played some soft rock from the '50s & '60s. But I haven't heard any rockin' stuff since Bill Taylor left (then again, I haven't listened much since he left). I wonder if WRIT's recent bump in the ratings has prompted WOKY to head in the Oldies direction.........

The Standards format has been changing in recent years. During the last days of WW1 Standards on WLIP in 2003 they were playing plenty of 60s oldies, just starting on non soft Beatles and they had Taco - Puttin' On The Ritz (Isn't that new wave?) in rotation.
To me WOKY seems to be headed into the gold AC direction sort of. And with Delilah on there at night I can see why.<P ID="signature">______________

Adult Standards basically no longer exists, except for the syndicated "Music of your life" format, and even they are slipping in The Beach Boys! The old term of "Middle of the road" seems more appropriate.
