Is WRKO For Sale ???

Tried to listen to the somnambulistic Beam and Bailey this morning.
Is Jason Wolfe serious? One can only believe that Entercom is holding the station in abeyance while they shop for a new buyer.

WRKO has become a total embarassment. No one in his right mind could program such amateur radio. The B&B can only drive listeners to B&B.

Maybe they can get some Emerson student from WERS to program the station. It couldn't be worse.

So, WRKO is on hold... Why spend money for quality new talent if the station is up for sale...and yes, I know they just got the Red Sox. I think that Entercom just picked up the 'curse of the Bambino' and is doomed for failure.

I asked this same question EARLIER this month? When you consider the number of "recent employee dismissals"---it sure seems like this is the current game plan?

ANYBODY OUT THERE KNOW? ???

selling could unload a overpriced sox contract, could be smart

You would think one would "increase" the value of a station before putting it up for sale, not decrease it. And with the quirky Red Sox deal (besides costing a TON of $$$$...way more than the value...and some games on WEEI)..Who..I ask , in their right mind would even venture to offer a bid for the station? No one that I know of. They really should just take paid programming during off Red Sox / Celtics broadcasts and rape as many people as possible. You all know that listeners mean nothing to owners/corporations nowadays.

WOW, you nailed it!!! might be o.k. for sundays in augusta though

If Entercom were to dump one of its AM properties in Boston I'd think they'd move the WEEI calls and sports talk to 680 (and keep Sox & Celts) and then peddle 850. 680 has better coverage, which is one reason they decided to put the Sox there. I don't think Entercom would do this; give it time. But the overspending on the Sox
contract does kind of remind me of what's going on in major league baseball...big money, big contracts--
either they're being foolish to spend so much, or there's a lot more money in corporate HQ than one would think.

And if the latter is true, then why cut the 'RKO news team?
Putting Sox on 'RKO should work, but the rest of the lineup is the big "if"...

I think Scott Allen is still there. "Mornings" in this thread referred to the "late morning" former DiPetro shift.

Put automated oldies on WRKO with the sox team! Classic Gold Rock and Roll Drake style from the early 70's!
Anything is better than what is on the station right now!
