They must be on (site up)

Today's the day the flip was scheduled to take place...I'm here in Beverly MA so I can't hear them but their site is up, complete with "C.C. (Classic Country)
Moose"

US 93.7 debuts. Also it looks like the debut from a new antenna site. In my travels around western VT, the signal is crummy to the south of Middlebury, and much improved in the Burlington area. Where the old signal was easily received in Brandon and south, you can hear the Eagle from Albany quite well in many places where WXAL used to come in.

Re: They must be on (site up)

How many of the announcers on "U.S. 93.7" are local??

According to the "Meet The Team" section of their website, the announcers' E-Mail addresses all end with "@jonesradio.net", which means that US 93.7 must be running Jones Radio's Classic Country format 24/7.

Does anyone in Vermont know if the station had any local/live personalities prior to the flip??

And according to their website, they also will be broadcasting NASCAR races, which a lot of country-music stations actually do.

Does anyone know if WXAL-93.7 broadcast NASCAR races before the flip??

None.

Most recenty was a simulcast of MP103 (no live announcers), before that a simulcast of Alice on 103.3 (local and live at times)

Ah...kind of like having a standards station run Music Of Your Life
and putting down the MOYL DJs on your site as the "air staff". Well, yes,
but they ain't local.

As for NASCAR stuff I'd think that the old WVAA 1390, which WXAL/to be WUSX-FM
is pretty much replacing, probably DID carry them, as do many country
stations nationwide. "Put Some Drive In Your Country"--Travis Tritt
(also Cledus T. Judd's "I Love This Bar" spoof, "I Love NASCAR")
