Isn't 1280 Spanish?

I've heard Jerry Doyle, with what little I try to listen here in AZ, mention people "calling in" from his home market of Vegas. Of course, he's certainly not on KXNT, not on KDWN, and not on KNEWS. So he's not on. Oh, but his website tells a different story... while it still invalidates his claim of callers for his weekday show, he does claim KDOX as a live Saturday night affiliate.

Aren't they en espanol?

They switched to talk on July 4th. They are all syndicated, running shows such as Jerry Doyle, Tony Snow, and Michael Medved.

Anywhere to get a schedule? I'd hope they picked up Beck and Ingraham.
 
OK, I got their schedule. Boring! With all the SRN hacks on, they might as well have sold the station to Salem!

Las Vegas already has one underperforming talk station, why does it need another? Another unmarketed, uninspiring talk station. How about finding a niche or capitalizing on what the other station's aren't doing - like compelling local talk? How about a local news presence? But that would require an investment and KDOX is seeking to simply flip a switch and let their low-rent talk format come down the pipes.

And what is "High Definition Radio"? Is that like paying to get the Discovery Channel in high-def on my DirecTV? Poor imaging, poor lineup, no local presence, no reason to change from the FMs, KXNT, KDWN, KSFN, KNUU. I say they're flipped in nine months.

You nailed everything that's wrong with 1280. I'm a talk radio fan, but this station, with one second rate syndicated show into another, just seems like noise or clutter to me. I predict their ratings will range from a no show to a 0.5.
