Isn't it time for "Dance CHR" (Part 2)?

Its been nearly a year since this thread was discussed. But having looked at the growing number of Rhythmics (like KZON, KSFM and KXJM) and Mainstream Top 40s (like KHTS and WSNX) that have gotten Dance-friendly lately and leaving listeners mistaking these outlets as Dance Top 40s (even with better numbers, thanks to PPM), maybe its time for a wakeup call at Billboard/BDS and Mediabase to add a new chart, especially Billboard with its Hot Dance Airplay chart. One hope to keep their fingers crossed that it will happen in 2011.

Pop music has gotten very rhythmic recently. Last week I DJed an event and played mostly pop, pop remixes, and I sprinkled in a dance hit every 20 minutes. Had a great crowd reaction, even to the unfamiliar dance music. Today's pop fits in very well with dance and vice versa.

How would a sample hour like this sound? Every song would have a beat, most songs are familiar. The idea is to get the listeners to accept the dance songs too. Z103.5, Wild 102.7, and Party FM are the best examples of Dance CHR.

Cool mainstream Dance CHR approach in that list. It basically swaps the rock/soft rock out of the CHR equation in favor of Dance. Love it, not as a Dance CHR purist but from a relatable-to-the-audience perspective. Very nice.
