Israeli Army radio and AM

And it's pretty easy to assume, that if your daughter no longer owns a portable AM radio, chances are pretty good that members of a terrorist group like Hamas and the hostages they've taken, aren't sitting underground listening to a portable radio.

In fact, I saw last evening on BBC America interviewing one of the released Israeli hostages who was held captive for something like thirty six days. One of the questions asked was whether they had any sense of what was going on above ground via newscasts, etc. The woman said they were locked in an isolated cold tunnel space with only mattresses and blankets to sit on. They passed the time telling stories and talking about what they would do if released. In other words; no radio or TV.

I realize this is an old thread, but in reviewing it, it occurred to me that a good 1 or 2 megaWatt signal in the
Long Wave (LW) band (150 to 300kHz) would probably work well. I suppose the question is: Do portable radios sold in the general Middle East area include the LW band ?

Not anymore, but I'm sure Hamas and hostages underground could get on Amazon and find radios that will. The question then is; what address does Amazon deliver to?
Most radios sold in the MENA are MW/FM.
