It appears Doug Hoerth has hung up his microphone

How do you 'hang up' a microphone? And unless he's the Limbaugh or Imus type and has his own, it most likely wasn't his to hang up.

I only listened to him once, when he was on WTAE, but apparently he is the most missed radio personality in Pittsburgh as another Pittsburgh forum has had at least 3 threads mourning his loss. Much more than any other Pittsburgh personality that has been sh############canned in recent time. Good Luck in your future endeavors.

Doug is one of a kind. The industry needs more of him and less of the corporate cookie cutter personalities that dominate the local and national airwaves. I wish him the best.

I thought of Doug Hoerth today. With the passing of Myron Cope and William F. Buckley on the same day, I imagined the great show Doug would have had today. Mr. Bucklley and Mr. Cope were two of Doug's heroes. The fact that we no longer can hear Doug on the radio makes a sad day even sadder.
