It appears there is more stations with Eagle 106.9's name in other states.

Do a web search and you will find at least two other different Eagle 106.9s throughout the country. They seem to play the same "classic hits" format as the Birmingham's Eagle 106.9 but I don't see Cox's name on those other 106.9s.

Apparently, this new name to the former 106.9 The Point is another "cookie-cutter" name. I wonder if this station will ever have an original name or identity. (Pardon the misspellings, if any, in this post)

I expect to find some stations name Eagle, but with 106.9 and nearly the same format too? This is too strange.

Cox has at least two "Eagle" stations: one in Tampa and the other in Jacksonville. www.969theeagle.com and www.1073theeagle.com. Yes, they are all cookie cutter because that is what Cox does best. One size fits all. If it works at K95 in Richmond and K92 in Orlando, then surely it will work at WZZK in Birmingham. Look how well that's worked for 'em.

Most Eagle stations that I've come across are usually either classic rock/hits or country. While not on the same frequency or ownership, there's an Eagle station in Baton Rouge. There was one in Meridian, but they've since switched to gospel.<P ID="signature">______________

Not as well as they'd really like, that's for sure. WZZK should have been the model for the rest instead of the other way around.

Also, Alabama already had an Eagle, namely country WELR-102.3 in Roanoke. I'm surprised they haven't raised a fuss about this, since 106.9's monster signal reaches there fairly well.

There is "Eagle 106.7" in Atlanta...actually licensed to Gainesville. Country. Owned by ABC.
