It appears we may have a station to replace WABB, and it's not 107.3

You had to mention one zero seven. This will be good. When's that show?

September 21-23. Tickets go on sale tomorrow online. They are for sale at Seville Quarter and Captin Fun right now.

I'm a businessman and I have a heart. I am also greedy, I won't deny it. When Mr. moneybags wants to talk to me about buying my business the first questions I ask are how he will take care of my long term employees (due to the economy and my skills at picking good people all my full timers have 15+ years under their belts, I want those men taken care of). One reason the Ditman family would have to sell the intellectual property of WABB to Cumulus (or CC) would be to include the employment of WABBs employees that are (or would be) out of a job today. Do the Dittmans have a heart? If I had owned WABB and sold it to EMF and no one came offering decent cash to by the intellectual property... I'd be calling them. Offering the call letters, etc, if they would give my employees a job with equal wages and corporate benefits that family owned WABB might not have been able to offer.

Now if Mr. Moneybags has deep enough pockets I would take the money and run. Give my employees a real nice severance check (3 months pay maybe) and never look back.

I know radio is cutthroat. That's one main reason I never went that way after college student radio. I still may choose to be an owner/operator when/if I get to retire... but I kinda doubt radio will be anything like it is today in 20 years. My adviser tells me I can't retire this year and I need more money.

Hey, forget about 104.1.
Tune in to 107.3. From what I hear and see, all the WABB's listeners are switching to Hit Music Now.

It doesn't matter. It's a proven fact that with two channels playing the same music the one with the poorest signal wins.

I listened to 104.1 this morning to hear them welcome WABB listeners to the new station. Is 107.3 doing the same?

I actually heard a Matt McCoy produced promo for HMN on 96.1 the Rocket this afternoon. They've been letting people know on the air and online.

well I've just noticed by all the comments and wall posts by Facebook. And there number of "likes" is growing by the hours.

Facebook "likes" as of 10pm today- 107.3- 2,124.....104.1- 2,172

Wow, that's more likes than WAPI-FM has in Birmingham, and they've been on Facebook for a while now.

Of course Magic 96 has over 7k likes, so there's a way to go, yet. The winner is still WABB-FM with 35k likes.

Just shows to show how much they were an impact and influence to the Mobile-Pensacola area They truly will be missed but the rebranding that is going on 104.1 could be something special. We will just have to wait in the coming week to hear and see who will be representing "WABD". I hope it's going to be well-worth it; knowing mornings have been taken care off and there are a lot of people who are ecstatic with the news. I wonder what 107.3 will do to keep up?
