It is astonishing...

That the WPEN simulcast on 97.5 sounds like it is straight from the WPEN Amplitude HD . And it’s being overfed so it distorts on peaks, probably from the top end positive peak amplitude modulation. It is arguably the worst audio on FM with horrendously poor the audio quality that is practically unlistenable for any period of time. Actually the audio was never really good for the Greater Media AC formats on 97.5, (especially considering the new Wyndmoor transmitter site) but this is a astonishing new lesson in shlock..

And furthermore, reeblfitz with the zounzeetazz.

Also astonishing is how they keep pounding "listen to the Phillies in STEREO". Ha ha.....they might be transmitting a stereo signal...but ESPN coverage of the ballgame is in MONO...you morons (morons meaning the bozos at Greater Media....not anyone who reads this board).

I got an email from ESPN today - they are going stereo on the main channel
on October 28th. I doubt baseball will be in stereo though.

It sound like they may have cleaned up the 97.5 audio a little. At least they've eliminated the peak distortion. But it still sounds like they taking the AM 5k HD analog feed. It's truly astonishing. The news studio feed actually sounds clean to a barely 12k dynamic range. But when the news is done, bang. I mean clip. I thought at first they may be using an old CBS volumax distortomax that was left over in the Wyndmoor site from WQAL or WPTZ. lol.
