It MUST be Christmastime if Oldies has flipped

It's all Christmas music now. Not sure if they started at 530 with Dale but Paula Street is now playing Christmas music. Tuned in at 915am a few minutes ago to hear Elvis singing "Blue Christmas" and then heard somebody singing a different version of "Silver Bells".

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you've been good this year, Uncle Dale has been watching you.

If you need me, I'll be listening to WROR.

8:55 AM (approx)
The Santa from the Burlington Mall flipped the "switch."

W-Odious--Jingle Bell Rot

I noticed them playing an Elvis Christmas tune about 10:45 am, and then Jingle
Bell Rock, etc. OK Infinity, here's the deal: WODS is off my presets until
maybe a week before Christmas. You started WAY too early. C'mon the fall
foliage is still around here in Beverly! So to all those advertisers, I won't
be hearing your ads...Unless you also advertise on WOKQ, where my preset
has now landed.

Well, have him "switch it back!" IMHO Christmas music is good for Musak in the mall and interspersed in rotation about a week before Christmas, period.

I personally have no problem with Christmas in the stores and music on the radio starting on Thanksgiving day. I DO think, as a listner, that starting before Thanksgiving is too much..

That said, from a sales point of view, there's a ton of money to be made as the all-Christmas station, and in that game I think it pays to be the FIRST station to do so because that's where all the presets go, to the frequency where the listeners first find it.

Face it, when the ladies shop around this time of year, they love the holiday music. WODS stands to make out like a bandit... so while you GUYS abandon WODS for the next 5 weeks, remember, you're not the demo that counts so Infinity doesn't care what you write here.

Thanksgiving is next week. Just chill... One week out isn't bad. Growing up, WBZ used to throw in a Christmas tune or two starting Thanksgiving so this isn't too bad. Now, Santa and his elves in Wal Mart the day after Labor Day as happened one year.... THAT was horrible!<P ID="signature">______________

Yes.net says that the flip occurred at about 8:51AM, with Johnny Mathis' "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year".

Last oldie until 12/26/05? "Love Her Madly" by The Doors.

Get your yes.net money back, first song was "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" by Johnny Mathis.
How do I know, I was listening to the whole bit, with the Burlington Mall Santa and all.
