"It Must Be Love" Madness

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX4gPaTZdWw

Today, I heard this long-lost '80s chestnut for the first time in pretty much decades on 4BH 882 AM out of Brisbane, Australia. And it got me wondering. I know "True" by Spandau Ballet is one '80s Modern/Alternative song that's popular with Adult Standards formats. But what do you think about this one?

I thought it actually fit in pretty good....

I like "True" but can't recall ever hearing it on adult standards.

I also like "Our House" but can't see it fitting.

There's a small handful of 80's pop/alt that have crossed to standards, at least some of the satellite driven formats. Spandau Ballet "True" is one. "The Captain Of Her Heart" from Double is another. I've even heard stations do some of the mellow George Michael songs like "Kissing A Fool," "A Different Corner," and "One More Try."

Madness "It Must Be Love" was not a big hit in the US, and it's a little upbeat for standards.
