It sounds like KTRB-860 is running some asian language programming tonight

I have noticed that KTRB-860 Modesto is running some type of Asian programming as of 9:05PM tonight. Has KTRB changed its format?

KTRB back to regular programming in morning

Well, KTRB is back to its regular programming. I listened to KTRB last night and from 9:05pm-11:pM they were some type of Asian programming(Hmong maybe?), No Alan Colmes as usual. Then after 11:pM, they were back to Roy Masters. Then I went to bed. This morning they were airing the usual Mike Gallagher and Infomercials. I'll check later when I get home from work. It maybe just Asian in the prime time hours. Who Knows?

Brokered Asian Programming at KTRB from 7:pM-11:pM

Depends on how much money they can make from it. There are a lot of Asians in the demographics of S.F., and if Pappas can find someone willing to pay to reach them, then on the air it goes ...

I am curious, though, with KTRB still in Modesto, what the demographics are to support Asian programming there now. (I've not spent any significant time in that market for better than 30 years, and at that time the only non-English speaking demo there was Hispanic.)<P ID="signature">______________

KM, I don't know how accurate Wikipedia is, but according to them, In Stanislaus County(Where Modesto is at), The Asian population is 4.22%, while in San Joaquin County(Where Stockton is at), The Asian population is 11.41%. Now they don't break it down to what Asians(i.e. Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese,Cambodian, etc.)the population is, I do know Stockton has a large Vietnamese/Cambodian population, in fact third behind Caucasian and Hispanic. Now I don't know who sponsors the prime time Asian Programming or even which Asian Language it is?I have listened to it and it is a mix of Talk And Music, doesn't sound like your average infomercial(Just before the Asian programming begins, there is the usual infomercial disclaimer). It really clashes with the regular talk programming, though it seems that they are increasing the amount of paid programming(The Infomercials and Roy Masters).
