It Sucks To Be "Sarah Connor"

Not too long after Fox cancelled "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles", Syfy acquired the rights to all 31 episodes, which began airing a few weeks ago.

Now, they are abruptly dropping the show and replacing it with reruns of the more popular "Star Trek: The Next Generation" - reruns of which already air on BBC America, as well as several broadcast stations.

It does suck to be SC. Especially since, according to that show's mythology, 19 April 2011 is when Skynet became aware and on 21 April 2011 Skynet decides to kill humanity.

And today's April 22 -- and we're still here.

Chalk another one up for science fiction becoming historical fiction.

Next date to watch out for May 21st, 2011. Will it really be the end of the world? Stay Tuned!

If it does, the new Holy Trinity is God, Jesus and Harold Camping, as Camping seems to know exactly when the world will end.

May 21 my eye.

I thought it was Dec 21, 2012, at least according to Nostadomus and The History "Fiction" Channel.

Honestly, I'm more concern about the disruptions to various services that people's hysteria about 2012 will cause than what is predicted to happen on that date. I'll be glad when we finally past that date on the calender.

In my opinion, 12/21/2012 will be just as bad as Y2K -- all the hubbub over nothing.

Except that Y2K was not hubbub over nothing. It was one of those rare moments where people heeded the warnings and prepared, so there was no disaster. I used to work in IT for a company that handled lease terms out to 10 years in the future - we had to deal with Y2K in 1990, and it wasn't pretty.
