It Took 1 Book

Way to go JOE. If memory serves me correct - the numbers we see represent a two book average. So, If you remove the spring book - the numbers would be much higher for JOE and much lower for the frog. Lemme get this straight - with a shoestring marketing budget, signal issues? etc.. Joe came fairly close to beating (in one book) a "legendary" "heritage" powerhouse with multiple signals. Froggy is number 1 - no dispute - but I can't remember a crushing debut like this in a while.

Your point is well taken, but don't get carried away. They didn't come "fairly close to beating" Froggy. The 12+ numbers for Joe are less than half those of Froggy.

Still a great accomplishment, a fantastic gain, and something they can continue to build on, and they have surely taken listeners from Froggy.

I haven't yet seen any numbers but 12+. I'm interested to see how JOE did in other demos and specific dayparts.

You miss the point. The 12+ numbers are a two book average. I only mean if you were to isolate the actual fall book it will show that JOE's number was much larger than a 4.6 (fall only) and that Froggy's fall was bigger than 9.
