It was 11 years ago today.

On October 11th 1995 AM 640 said good-bye to hit music radio for ever and went all talk as Talk 640 Toronto.

I remember them having shirts that read "Voice activated October 11th 1995"
on the sleeve and "Radio that pushes your buttons" on the front.

They later tried to be known as "Mojo radio" as talk radio for guys, but it just wasn't working out.
Today they are AM 640 Toronto radio.

Happy 11th birthday! Talk radio for...who ever is listening!

(Lucky for them, they are making money as the "Home of the Maple Leafs")

i really miss the HOG...........

The what? :D Seriously though, do you mean AM640 "the beat of Toronto", or the original Hog from June of 1990? Maximum grunt and all...

The closest you'll get to *a* hog today is www.1029thehog.com

It's not a rock 40 like the original hog in Toronto, but I think it's smart what they're doing.

Not a bad idea for today's times. Instead of a person's name, it's an animal playing the rock it wants. (or something like that ;D )

am640 the HOG !! ..

Maybe they shoudl come back! I'd listen to em

and it'd be a good marketing fit for sister Q107 .. and i bet they'd do better than a .9 share

The hog from Milwaukee is one of the best rock stations I have heard yet. It is alittle like the hog from Toronto back in 1990 or Pirate Radio from L.A in the early 90's.

If the Hog were to come back to Toronto, I would change some of the playlists on Q107 as Q did play alot of that stuff back in the day. I like to see Q do a whole evening of hairbands......like on Fri nights.
