Does the hypocrisy come as a surprise? R&R stood on their soap-box shortly after being blown out, crying "we'd never do that" with regards to taking another show's gig, so it's not really a shocker that their ardent supporters (all 5 of them) don't exactly practice what they preach either. And for what it's worth, I'm not faulting them for taking the gig (I've spent my share of time "on the beach" too and know how much it sucks)... I just laugh at their actions flying in the face of their holier-than-thou proclamations.

My website had 123,543,567,123,123,564,875,914,781 hits last month alone! Just saying they had the hits doesn't meant they actually had the hits. Are you that gullable? Considering R&R's ratings, I find that figure hard to believe. It's sort of like the last set of photo's that made R&R look good on their web site. Reality and perception are a million miles apart. I'm not even trying to dog on them, however those photo's were heavily edited with Photoshop.

Everytime a single user clicks a thread, replies to a post, or does anything on thier forums, it registers a hit.
For a comparison, a website I moderate has just over 20,000 members on the forums and has had 523 million hits in the same time frame.

Everytime a single user clicks a thread, replies to a post, or does anything on thier forums, it registers a hit.

That is thousands, not millions, of visitors. As with any poll or survey, anyone can pick out certain numbers and make it sound like they want it to sound. 277,000 divided out since August is about 25,000 hits per month. Hardly the numbers they implied. I'm not saying this to trash R&R, actually starting to enjoy their show. But before Dave1972 and Tumor come on here and think we are trashing R&R (as they are trashing some of you in the R&R forums), they need to realize that they are now getting, as Paul Harvey would say, "The REST of the story".
im not really surprised that theres so much bashing because ive read this forum for a while, but man, you guys seriously need to think about the crap you say... and im not directly talking about one person (so save the 'that wasnt me' replies) or one post. im just saying..
roula and ryan are two really nice, truly good hearted, down to earth people... who YES, i do know personally. obviously theyre doing something right or they wouldnt be doing radio in houston. their show is brand new to krbe... a new studio, new atmosphere. all of that does change the comfort level a bit. are you going to like everything on their show? probably not. heck... their show may not even be your kind of show. thats why there are a variety of shows on the air. not everyone will love the same show. i know 'radio' and 'non-radio' people who love the show, and some who dont like it as well. i dont love every sitcom i come across.
this isnt 5th grade. its scary to think that just because its not your type of show, you would hold so much bad feelings for these people and make personal stabs at them. these are just people trying to make a living. im not saying everyone should sit around the bonfire and sing kumbaya... but man, cut them some slack.

I didn't call anyone out on the topic of "web hits", I called people out on the below the belt 5th grade fat and ugly jokes that are dominant on this board, that is what I don't like reading and when I don't like something I will voice my opinion whenever and wherever possible. As far as the message boards I informed everyone of the trashing on radio.com, I never posted anything like is being poster here, I don't operate that way houstonray.

I never bashed them personally either and didn't agree with that, I am more along the lines of I don't think that was the right move for Cumulus to do with their new KRBE property. I just don't think they were the right choice, but I'll wait and see how the ratings go after their first full quarter. And I'll be the first to apologize if I was wrong in saying they made a bad decision. Personally, I would have loved to have seen R&R on 107.9. I think that would have been a great fit.
